What you need to know about rate setting for professional movers

Did you know professional movers are subject to rate setting? What you pay a mover is actually a rate set by the state through its transportation regulation. Rates are set by the Utility Transportation Commission under the 15-C tariff. The tariff is broken down into three basic sections: #1, General Rules, #2 Intrastate Moves, and #3, Hourly Rated Moving.

If your move is fewer than 55 miles from point A to B, then this move is to be done by the hour. If the move is greater than 55 miles from point A to B, then this move is done by the weight of the shipment. Online estimates are available to you, but an in-home estimate is always your best bet. Make your reservation in advance to allow enough time for our estimator to come to your home or office and get it all in writing. This allows us to be prepared for the unforeseeable, such as a special request like moving china over the long haul, how many boxes you may need, and much more.
